Laid-Back Layers

Whether it’s for a night out or a day at work, I love getting dressed up. In fact, having a reason to dress up every day is one of the things I miss most about working in an office. But as much as I love to primp and prep, there are some days when all I want to do is wear a comfy, cozy outfit that takes little thought or time to throw on. And when fall rolls around, that outfit typically involves lots of layers and super-soft fabrics.

To create a warm and easy look on Thanksgiving, I layered a plush purple cable-knit sweater over a basic chambray button-down and added cool-weather accessories like a wool-blend scarf, big knit socks and worn-in riding boots. I love the equestrian vibe this outfit gives off, and it was the perfect ensemble to wear for a laid-back day full of family time and fantastic food.
