Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid

I hope everyone had as wonderful of a Christmas as I did! It was quiet—thanks to it being just me, Harrison and Paul—but it truly was fantastic. We ate a lot, drank a little and spent a ton of time relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.

I know there’s still a week left in 2013, but Christmas, not New Year’s, is always the time I start thinking about the year ahead—what my priorities will be, what I hope to accomplish and, naturally, what trends I want to try out. And I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to play with the Pantone Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid.

Right now, I have exactly one and a half pieces of Radiant Orchid in my closet: a scarf and a sweater that’s striped in front and solid orchid in back. I definitely want to add at least one more splash of this color to my wardrobe in 2014, so I’ve rounded up a list of pieces I’d love to get my hands on:

fashion, style, clothes, clothing, shopping, trends, color, lilac, lavender, orchid, purple, color of the year, radiant orchid, pantone, trends, dress, mossimo, wallet, liebeskind, shoes, heels, pumps, jimmy choo, lace dress, dvf, diane von furstenberg, jeans, met, sweater, cashmere sweater, ralph lauren, earrings, stud earrings, kate spade, kate spade new york, dress, printed dress, calla, belt, skinny belt, nail polish, fingernail polish, butter london

1. Dress by Mossimo 2. Wallet by Liebeskind 3. Pumps by Jimmy Choo 4. Dress by Diane von Furstenberg 5. Jeans by MET 6. Cashmere sweater by Ralph Lauren 7. Earrings by Kate Spade New York 8. Dress by Calla 9. Belt by Jimmy Choo 10. Nail polish in “Molly Coddles” by Butter London

This is one of those shades that I think is flattering on nearly everyone, and it instantly adds some life and personality to any ensemble. I would love to use just a dose of it in my accessories to brighten up a neutral outfit, or really make a statement with a full-orchid dress.

How will you wear the Color of the Year?
