I’ve been scratching my head all morning, wondering how it’s even possible that there are only two days left in 2013. This year has absolutely flown by, especially because it’s been a big one for me: I started my blog (the one-year anniversary is just around the corner!), did a lot of travel for both work and play, and made the big move to Philadelphia, among other things.
Even though this year has been amazing, I’m really looking forward to all 2014 has to offer, including my long-awaited trip to Europe and some major changes coming to the blog. (Don’t worry, you only have to wait one more day to see them!). But I’m getting ahead of myself. Before I jump headfirst into 2014, New Year’s Eve must be celebrated—and celebrated in style, of course.
Harrison and I tend to keep it low key for NYE, and I’ve already picked out a glam-but-casual outfit for tomorrow night (which you’ll see on Wednesday). But for those of you who are doing something a little more celebratory—whether it’s a casual party with friends or a big night on the town—I’ve put together a few outfit options to help you ring in the New Year:
In my book, sequins, shimmer and/or shine are must-haves for any NYE party. Fill your quota for a casual affair by throwing on a show-stopping sequined blazer over a pair of sexy leather pants and a ruffled silk tank. Top the outfit off with high-shine heels, sophisticated jewels, and a pop of color in your clutch and lipstick.
Crank up the wow factor in your NYE ensemble with a super-hot look full of luxe materials, lots of sparkle and a splash of bold color. I love the look of a feathered skirt for special occasions, and paired with metallic heels, statement jewels and a polished coat to reign it all in, you’ll strike the perfect balance between classy and seductive.
Some of us live the ultimate glamorous life and get to attend swanky soirees for New Year’s Eve (don’t look at me …), and for those lucky ladies, a chic gown is the way to go. Keep it from being boring or stuffy by opting for a version in a bold color and making the entire look gleam with gilded accessories, bags and jewels.
How are you ringing in the New Year, and what will you be wearing?
