Friday Four

This first week in January is always one of the toughest of the year. Everyone’s suffering from a mental (and, in some cases, literal) hangover from the holidays and time off, and it seems almost impossible to get back into the swing of things. Not to mention, Philadelphia (and the rest of the Northeast) is basically being hit by a blizzard right now, and the mounds of snow and below-freezing temps are doing nothing but making me want to stay cuddled up in bed!

Fortunately, I have a few things to keep me going—a New Year, a redesigned blog, the thought of the weekend right around the corner, and the four things I want to wear, live in, eat and visit this week:

I’ve been looking for a new bag that toes the line between everyday staple and statement maker, and this gorgeous satchel from Vince Camuto definitely fits that description. I adore the timeless shape, luxe fabric and classic camel coloring, and the fun-but-chic pattern only makes it that much better. Bonus: It also comes in snakeskin.

Live In: A glorious gold kitchen (via Apartment34)

If I had to narrow it down to one thing I dislike most about apartment living, it would be the teeny, tiny kitchens I’ve always had to cope with. That is, until I saw this jaw-dropping, glowing-gold kitchen. This space is small, too, but it’s so glamorous and sophisticated that it’s the last thing I would be thinking about if I lived here.

Eat: Garlic Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower (via Peace + Love + Low Carb)

When I mentioned making this recipe over the weekend, Harrison didn’t seem too thrilled about it (picky, picky!). But that’s not going to stop me from whipping up what’s sure to be a delicious—and healthy!—snack. I’m a veggie fanatic as it is, and seriously, does anything taste bad when you add Parmesan and garlic to it?

Visit: La Digue Island, Seychelles

To be honest, I just want to be somewhere warm (though this secluded spot in the Seychelles doesn’t look too shabby). Like I mentioned earlier, the weather here is so brutal right now—I can barely hear myself think over the gusts of wind outside! So the thought of sitting in the sun on a warm beach with a cold drink and a good book in my hand has me practically warming up already.
