Trend to Try: Winter Whites

I’ve always loved winter, but thanks to this little thing called the “Polar Vortex”—which made it feel like -25 degrees in Philly yesterday—the season has really started to get on my bad side. I’m trying to put my bitter feelings aside and bring back the winter love, and I could only think of one way to do it: find a few pieces that help me nail one of my favorite cold-weather trends, winter whites.

From casual to high fashion, winter whites work for every occasion.

I have a fair share of white pieces in my wardrobe, but I recently realized that most of them are either blouses, button downs or dresses. Sadly, white skirts, coats, accessories and even jeans—all must haves for creating a winter-white outfit—are noticeably absent. But not for long, I hope, thanks to this lineup of gorgeous pieces:

The great thing about all of these pieces is that they’re perfect for mixing and matching with one another—or nearly any other item in your wardrobe. Ease into the trend by wearing just one or two white items, like white denim with a striking wool coat or a cozy knit sweater. Try a mod color-blocked look with a white dress, black tights and a great pair of black-and-white heels. Or throw a splash of color into an all-white look with a bright bag, a bold necklace or even a vibrant jacket. However you wear it, it’s hard not to look chic covered up in winter whites.

How do you rock this winter trend?
