I’m the kind of person who usually spends a ton of time thinking about an item I want or a purchase I’m going to make, especially if it’s a piece I know I’m going to keep for the long haul. There’s just something about taking the time to compare all of my options and trying on a million different variations that makes it all the more sweet when I finally find the perfect pick.
And that was exactly the case with these faux-leather leggings. I’ve been wanting a pair forever, and I finally got one a few weeks ago for Christmas. Instead of wearing them immediately—which I typically do with any new purchase—I somehow had the restraint to wait until last week to whip them out and wear them. And boy, were they worth the wait! Not only are they surprisingly comfy, but they make any outfit instantly chic (not an exaggeration!), and work well for both casual and more glamorous occasions.
Because I never tire of wearing a classic black-and-white outfit, I paired these babies with a basic white button down, balancing out the “hard” leather with a chiffon-front blouse to keep the look soft and daytime-friendly for a recent trip to Philly’s Museum District.
I love that these leggings are made of ponte-knit in the back, as it’s a stress-free way to ease into the leather trend without going overboard. Paired with a jeweled-collar button down, a work-meets-play satchel, and delicate silver baubles, it’s an outfit that could work for both a casual business setting or a steamy date night.
Real or faux, how do you wear your leather?
