Great Gifts for the Hostess

A few weeks ago, we had friends in town for the weekend, and even though they stayed at Harrison’s hotel (because we don’t have a guest room, remember?), my sweet friend Katie brought the most thoughtful and wonderful hostess gifts when they came over for dinner one evening. Not only did she get me this adorable bamboo bar set that she saw on this post, but—knowing how much I love gold anything—she also got me a set of beautiful gold-rimmed water glasses and linen ikat napkins. Seriously, isn’t she the nicest?!

I’ve been thinking about how generous she was ever since, which also led me to starting thinking about what kind of fun, unique and beautiful gifts I could give others when Harrison and I go for a visit (though that happens so rarely these days …). After searching through a long list of options, I think I’ve finally come up with a solid list of 12 items that would make great gifts for a hostess. Check them out:

home, home decor, hostess, hostess gifts, decor, decorating, interior design, interior decorating, tray, jewelry box, keepsake box, lucite letter, tory burch, salt and pepper shaker, jonathan adler, vase, zara, napkins, patterned napkins, candle, scented candle, nest, frame, picture frame, gold frame, cocktail glass, martini glass, stationery, liberty london, recipe cards, recipe card box, terrarium, jayson home

1. Tray by Coco de Paris 2. Keepsake box by Sheherazade 3. Lucite letter by Tory Burch 4. Salt + pepper set by Jonathan Adler 5. Vase by Zara Home 6. Patterned napkins by Jessie Steele 7. Scented candle by Nest 8. Frame by Lazy Susan 9. Cocktail glass set by LSA International 10. Stationery by Liberty London 11. Recipe card box by The Stationery Studio 12. Terrarium by Jayson Home

I love little pops of color in the home, so the Zara vase and Sheherazade keepsake box really caught my eye (and the hot pink bubblegum in that French Bulldog tray is just the cutest). I love the uniqueness of the Jonathan Adler salt + pepper shakers, and the set of gold, striped cocktail glasses and polkadot napkins are so chic. The simple pieces of decor—from the beautiful scented candle and lucite monogram letter to the geometric gold frame and terrarium—would work in any home, and the recipe card box and stationery would come in handy for just about everyone.

What do you think of these hostess gift ideas? Is there one idea you love in particular? Am I missing anything important?
