I’m a simple pleasures kind of girl, and there are few simple pleasures I enjoy more than finding pieces I’ve been eyeing for a long time on major sale. And it must have been my lucky weekend, because that happened not once, but twice as I was shopping on Saturday! The first was with this new pair of sunglasses, a rimless Wayfarer style I was thrilled to find at LOFT for 50 percent off. Then it was this amazing dress I’ve been debating buying for months now, which I scored for nearly 70 percent off at the Express semi-annual sale.
You know how much I adore the classic black-and-white combo, but there’s so much more to love about this dress than just that. There’s the chic neckline, the adorable pockets, the perfect and super-flattering fit, the voluminous skirt—it has nearly everything I could ever want in a dress. Plus, it’s surprisingly comfortable and so versatile that I’ll easily be able to wear it year-round.
I, of course, had to wear it immediately, so I threw it on this weekend with my go-to leopard-print coat—testing out the theory that leopard print is a neutral, which it totally is—for an evening look. Paired with a simple heel, black satchel, big cuff and sparkly earrings, it was a chic ensemble perfect for the transitional days of spring. I even tried out that orange lip trend I mentioned in last week’s Friday Four, and I think I may have found my new favorite lip color for spring!
