Typically after a really busy and exciting weekend, I’m left feeling like the last thing I want to do is start my week and get back to work. But this time around, I actually ended a perfect weekend feeling really rejuvenated and excited to take on the week ahead. Perhaps it was the fact that I refused to do any work this weekend, or maybe it was that French Toast Sandwich (stuffed with peanut butter, bananas, bacon + honey) I had at brunch yesterday, but I woke up today ready to rule this week.
And speaking of brunch, we had a fabulous one on the Lower East Side yesterday at this place called Fatta Cuckoo. Not only did they have really interesting items on the brunch menu (like my sandwich, called the Yeah Elvis, and BLT Tacos), but they also had a really awesome brunch + cocktails deal, which is always a win in my brunch book.
Since the spot was a really small and casual one, I decided to go pretty basic with my ensemble by wearing a simple strapless dress, a lightweight summer scarf and my leopard-brooch flats. Finishing the look with my trusty old sun hat, oversized tote and black + gold jewelry, it was casual and comfortable enough for a long morning of overindulging.
This loose-fitting dress was a must, because after I ate my French Toast Sandwich (with fries on the side!), I really needed the flowing fit. And that sun hat couldn’t have been more welcome on such a bright, sunny, beautiful day.
