I’ve long been a fan of the color-blocking trend, but I’ve always been shy about trying it out with bold, bright color mixes like the ones that look so amazing on the runway and in street-style photos. So when I saw this toned-down tricolor sweater in Express several weeks ago, I knew it was the ticket to subtly exploring color-blocking for myself.
Black, white and tan are three of my favorite colors to wear on their own, but they also combine to create a classic—and classy—combo that’s perfect for the neutral colors I sport in the fall. Paired with some black denim, glam flats, gilded jewelry and bright red lipstick, this color-blocked sweater is a safe way to make a bold statement.
Do you like to color block? If so, do you play with bright colors or neutral hues like these?
